Enhancing My Ideas
I chose to use the word betrayal as my main theme and starting sketching ideas around this. The first drawings is two people who were best friends and then one friend blamed the other in for something they didn't do the innocent friend get's thrown in jail left with a chain as a reminder of his friend's betrayal while the guilty one walks free and leaves his chain and the memory of his friend behind him. The second drawing is a chain and lock which represents trust, the lock is forcefully broken which means that there was an intent to break the trust and safety the lock and chain held. the third drawing is a burning bridge or monument in which a blinded man led his troops onto/into and then set it ablaze. The man will more than likely be a man or woman famous for betrayal.
wow there is already a story here and a whole heap of ideas behind this. You must have been thinking about this for a while.
ReplyDeleteWhen we work with a story in art we refer to it as the 'narrative' in art. That appears to be what you are doing. Frieda Kahlo would be a good starting point as an artist model, as there is a very narrative form to her work. most surrealists also (search surrealism in the 20th century) and Marc Chagall would also be a nice point to start with.
